I was in the Marines and we had lobster as well, but that was only at the main camp and it was well after the base became well established. When I first got there it was basically nothing but hot chow and MREs. Didn't get shit like lobster until after a year of being there. The new chow hall was dope, though. Was able to get hamburgers and pizza whenever we wanted. Ate chicken cordon bleu for the first time in the new chow hall as well. I actually gained weight during those final months.

Food at stateside bases in the Marines is dogshit in my experience. They contract this company called Sodexo which hires literal retards and felons to prepare and serve the food because the government pays the company a kickback to babysit them (similarly to the Marines which is also a daycare center for retards and felons)

The food in Japan was amazing because it was prepared by Japanese people who actually took their jobs seriously.

The Air Force receives the most $ per capita.

Sailors turning to homosexuality after months at sea without seeing a woman has been a joke for millennia.

Not military, but my friends who were airforce came from good backgrounds. Not neccessarily upper class, but good colleges and academics. It's considered more prestigious than the other corps.

Navy, well just use your imagination. You're stuck 10,000 feet underwater for weeks at a time, seeing the same faces and no privacy or space to yourself. No idea if there is actual truth to this though.
