I like the Samyang and Nissin Black Garlic Oil ones. As for your question, it depends; I eat them like once every two or three weeks due to the sodium content and calories involved, so for me its a treat, but its trash if that's all you eat for every meal or pretend you're some sugoi ass weaboo.

I've been trying to find a good instant noodle for a long time. So far my favorite is Maruchan roast beef but I understand that's pretty pleb tier.
I'm looking for one that's beefy and savory. Most of the "good" ones I see recommended are just "spicy" as the flavor which doesn't really interest me, I'm not looking for spicy, or chicken, or seafood.
Anyone have any recommendations under those guidelines?

When I was a kid my family didn't have ramen. I didn't discover it until my family visited my grandmother in Cali. I had no idea it was poor people food and it was a neighborhood kid that introduced me to it. I found it utterly fascinating and happily accepted a portion of his uncooked ramen brick. I didn't even know it was supposed to be cooked. Good stuff. Great snack.

I grew up eating top ramen, my mother bought that shit by the case. My tipping point against it was when I was 16 (to save weight) I hiked in to the grand canyon with that stuff and ate almost nothing but for 3 days every meal...
Didn't touch the stuff again for 15 years and was not impressed when I did try it again 17 years after that.

just 1 day ago I bought some Ramen from an asian grocery. The brand is unreadable to me. Shit was pretty good.

I wouldn't eat it every day, but it was not bad.

You can buy expensive ones if you want to pretend you're better than other people based on how much you spend on random things.

In reality cup noodle and instant ramen are for people who are short on time more than short on money.

You can just buy the plain noodles in the Asian section and season them yourself to cut out the insane amount of sodium/whatever the fuck is in those seasoning packets. I still do it sometimes because I grew up poor and eating a lot of instant noodles so it's a quick comfy lunch.

I just cook them in a little broth or plain water it doesn't really matter, drain and toss with:
Sesame oil
Chili oil
Some soy sauce (salty yes but you won't get near as much sodium unless you crazy overdo it to the point where they aren't edible)
Couple of poached eggs.
