Dumb. This is not comparable to drinking from a glass. The can has to be designed with a narrow lip to withstand internal pressure and the weight of other cans stacked during transport. So you get this narrow closure on top of your "glass" that's gonna feel the same as drinking from a can, only messier. It's more like drinking out of a shitty jar rather than a glass, but even a jar is better - a jar still has a smooth surface for the liquid to flow directly through the opening. This blocks the flow of water

Removable tops is the earlier design. It got phased out because some savages kept tossing them after popping a cold one, which meant you had sharp aluminium in the grass and bushes fucking everywhere.
It also wasted money, as the can itself got recycled, but that is still a significant loss as the top is a big surface area. Which is why it got phased out: Recycled is a lot cheaper than mint aluminium, and somebody pays for those cans.

Different CO2 levels, and different levels of microbacteria.
Same reason why taco sauce tastes different between small containers and HUGE containers.

I agree on the premise: Tapping to glass means too much CO2 escapes, and you do get the aftertaste of the dried up minerals remaining in the glass after washing.

>People here are obsessed with beer head
Which is ironic, because japanese beer is watery shit that can't form a proper head.

I went to recycle a bunch of cans once and had a bag full of stay-on tabs. They were collected for some charity but no one was donating at the time so I got them. The guy at the recycler said next time, leave the tabs on the cans because separately they're worth less. He gave me can price for them anyways.

They booed a guy off shark tank with a can opener that did the same thing.

The only product I see still opened that way is corned beef, no idea why they haven't started using the same style can that spam uses since it's the same shape.

As stated, corned beef, It's the only thing I've seen packaged with a key (part time Kroger slave). I think because it's all packed in Brazil and I'm guessing it's still common there.

Because it’s ‘fun’, you marketing brainlet. You seem to be under an incorrect impression that it’s a product which competes with all other soft drinks.
It’s literally intended for kids. And like a lot of kids’ candy and whatnot, the packaging gimmick works.
Nobody in Japan above grade school age drinks ramune, except for a nostalgia kick.
