I think that fizz drinks are fine. People freak out about the egg white thing, but it's really not a big issue. I never see them being ordered anywhere and they're not usually on menus.

Theres very very few brand that are similar enjoyment quality at same price range and that are as readily available as jd.

Id give you maybe buffalo trace but its like 20% nicer (flavour depth, sippability) but its also equally more procey in most places and less available, at least in UK. Only one semi major supermarket stocks it here and its usually sold at prices close to woodford reserve price.
Id say buffalo is also the best bourbon at its own price range

>> No.15854044

It's alright, easy to drink and readily available everywhere, there are not many choices when it comes to bourbon in Europe. But I would rather spend 10€ more and buy a bottle of Laphroaig 10 if I'm having whisky.

In the UK it's about £32 per litre or $44 per 35oz. For bourbon, it's fair for the price point, it's not the best whiskey but nobody hates it, it's sweet and inoffensive. However, locally we have much better whiskies and gins at that price so it's not worth it.

24x case of beer 5%alc ~$36USD
Cheap spirits (smirnoff, gordons, bundy, jim beam) 37.5% alc ~$28USD

We get pretty fucked over with taxes here, if you're looking to get drunk the cheapest way is with cider or box wine. Aldi has good beer for about $7.50USD but overall its expensive to be an alcoholic here.

Your wine price is good (I know you guys have a significant domestic wine industry) but you get fucked on beer and liquor. 80 proof Gordon's here is $12, cheapo beers we can get 18 for $14.

Depends on what you set your base level at.
Scotch is priced similarly to how it is in the UK, it's only American whisky that tends to get blown the fuck out expensive beyond tax and currency conversion.
And the alcohol taxes aren't the same for different liquors.
Australian wine is huge because taxes are so low (ignoring 175% import tax on its way to china). Beer is not bad, we drink national beer almost exclusively but all that's available internationally is Fosters (and they reduced the abv when it became internationally available, killing it locally).
Our spirits are neither shitty nor cheap, perhaps with the exception of low end Bundaberg Rum.

Though straight up check Dans first. Their non sale prices are better and they're prolific price fixers.
