This for sure, long time ago I used to be a picky eater ( say I was like 8-10 or smth) but now I'm in adulthood and I've realized how reatarded being a picky eater is. It's a real sign of still being a child.

Whenever I try something I don't like it's usually a case of being unfamiliar. It's not that I dislike it, it's just new so I don't immediately like it. So I will eat it numerous times and begin to enjoy the flavour.

>> No.15846117

>>15845922
I tried this but it never worked. I eat a lot of food picky eaters typically don't eat but some things like fish, curry or liver I cannot stand. Especially curry sucks because I basically can't eat Indian food.

If they can cook with those constraints, they are probably better than you. And might even have better taste.

Does anyone actually not preheat the oven? Surely even the most braindead mongoloid must have noticed that every reference to cooking things in an oven is preceded by the phrase "preheat to ..." I'd expect a caveman who has never used an oven to try to use it without preheating but no one else.

>> No.15846921

>>15846878
You cannot "preheat" anything.

The oven is either hot or room temperature.

>> No.15846949

>>15846878
I usually preheat my oven when cooking, but if for whatever reason I ever forget, I don't worry about it, I just stick whatever was going to cook in there and let it go for a few minutes longer. I'm not about to wait around a half hour for the oven to preheat to shove my lasagna in it, I'll just cook the lasagna for 15 or so more minutes

>> No.15847067

>>15846921
there's a middle area where it goes from room temperature to hot
that's called preheating

The worst kind of picky eaters are the people who don't dislike food because of the taste, but the texture. The people who don't like lettuce on burgers because of the crunch, or caramelized onions or mussels/oysters because of the slimy texture.

People will eat literal feces and berate you for not eating it because you're a "picky eater". Most things are good if made properly, but if you just don't enjoy something forcing yourself to eat something is silly. Why should I eat a food I don't enjoy when I could eat something I really like? No one goes home and makes food they don't like. I eat food to enjoy it not to scarf down food that tastes awful just to be polite/satisfy the autism of others

>> No.15847157

The second the oven is one degree hotter, it is a hot oven in comparison to its starting temperature.

There is no such thing as a “preheated” oven.

It all depends on what you're making.

If you're baking a cake or some kind of pastry it's gonna make a big difference on the texture of the finished product the same way if your dough was cold or room temp or frozen when it went in.

Things I dont preheat for:
>frozen pizza
>braised dishes that will be in for hours
>oven pulled pork
Things I do preheat for:
>baking cake
>pie crust/pie itself
>roasted veggies

That's a ridiculous thing to say, because 'curry' is a ridiculously broad category. Even if you exclude British and Japanese, there's no single ingredient that's common among every Indian curry.

ok, so say "heat the oven to 350" instead of "preheat to 350," the semantics don't make any difference, so why be autistic about it
