>make soup/stew/dip/sauce
>don't eat it after cooking
>put it in the fridge and eat it the next day so the flavors can get even stronger
I can't be the only one who does this.

Massengill or Summer's Eve?

i usually also make my soups the night beforehand to snack on the next day. i'm not sure if the flavor really gets that much better, but it heats up nicely and preserves pretty well

Whenever I eat leftover soup I always feel the speed immediately

What's the deal with soup, stew, dip and sauce? Like, you just boil the soup a little and add butter, oh now it's a stew, you add it to a milk base and get some chips out now it's a dip. Oh and don't even get me started on consomme, broil, bisque...

Why don't we just get one word for all liquid based meals? Oh, a delicious slow stirred long exposition infusion of rich creamy animal collagens and assorted herb and spices? That's just watery leaf bone!

You're not. I often make large batches of chili and let them meld for at least 2 days before eating.
When I do this, I DON'T DRAIN THE FAT FROM THE BROWNED MEAT, as it makes a good seal that hardens in the fridge. when you crack it open you can add back as little or as much extra you want per serving.
It's amazing how much truly delicious food "tech" has been lost since mass commercialization.

Translation:
>Ew! You put fast food soup in the microwave after it's been sitting out on your dusty, sticky desk overnight? Every time I do that, it's yucky!

You should be making your own soup. The only conceivable 2 reasons I can see for a soup's flavors not deepening in the fridge overnight is if it's either fast food / restaurant soup, or you didn't use anything but like, water and potato when making your own.
