President brie is terrible in France, you got the real thing and it obeys the cheese "copyright" meaning it's made in a certain territory.
President is a massive industrial operation, their butter is a standardized taste much like heinz ketchup. The butter is decent, if you like it that's the food regulation e.g. less than 82% fat is fully illegal, it's easier to dodge taxes than sell 80% butter.
If you were in France you would do better with store-brand brie (Carrefour, Tous Les Jours, Pâturages). That's the absolute cheapest cheese actually, cheaper than emmental, cheaper than grated cheese, burger slices etc. Your strategy should then be to maximize the bread, if unable to find good bread you have to look for "artisanal bakery" (follows further legal obligations) or country-side bread in open air markets but even then I may be a bit pissed by the bread. A fancy-looking, ordinary bakery I tried makes good bread except it's got not enough salt. I had to buy roquefort to finish it.
