Forgive the long post. I just HAVE to type this out.

It had been months since I'd had a proper meal in a restaurant so I finally got up the nerve and decided to get up the nerve and head to my favorite local eatery. I checked their website and yelp page prior to my departure and was happy to see that they appeared to be keeping with all of the covid guidelines. At the beginning of the pandemic I had spent several hundred dollars on N95 from eBay and always ensure they are properly fitted. I even have cut my hair short to ensure a good fit. I made sure to don it properly before getting in my car and heading to the restaurant. I usually prefer to dine alone, but really enjoy the craft and artistry of fine dining so I usually get to restaurants for dinner right when they open. This is exactly what I did on my first venture out in months. While there were limited instructions on the website I took the initiative and when I arrived I called the hostess to let them know that I had arrived and would be entering shortly so they could move away from the door ways/keep distance. They seemed so confused. I thought they would appreciate the heads up. I was just being courteous.

When I finally did arrive I was pleased to see that they had cleared the way and that the restaurant was more or less empty. I helped myself to a seat and waited for my waitress to arrive. This is when I started to get frustrated. I waited 15 minutes and no one arrived. I again had to take the initiative and call them to figure out what was going on. I heard the phone ring and someone in the back must have picked up. I let them know that I was waiting to be served in the dining room. The woman on the phone was even more confused than from my previous call but said she would be right out. My waitress eventually came over (she was actually pretty cute). She let me know that she didn't understand my first phone call and that the hours on their website were wrong as they had seen a downturn in business since the pandemic hit and that they actually weren't even open yet. She was friendly and said she could serve me anyways because she was the asst manager as well but I couldn't help but feel like she was laughing at me. It was at this point I noticed she was wearing one of those useless single ply surgical masks. I asked if she would mind putting on something a little more suitable for the situation. I was referencing her putting on an n95 like me but I think she misunderstood it as some kind of rude come on and told me, and I quote "that if you don't get the fuck out of here I'm calling the cops".

People are unbelievable.

My parents run a restaurant and I work there part time. The most satisfying thing is when a person doesn't want to wear a mask if they are coming in to pick up their order. We have called the cops on like a dozen people since the pandemic started. One bitch got physical and slapped our main hostess and I tackled her and held her down until the cops arrived. Covid 19 is like a filter. Only narcissistic retards don't wear a mask.
