I'm giving you $50 / 50€.
You can only spend it on /ck/ related stuff (food, alcohol, cooking accessories, etc).
What do you buy?

Really? That unexpected 50 I've saved on food will allow me to buy more books or vidya later. I find that exciting.

Assuming you don't want the boring but practical answer (my next $50 of groceries), I could use a chinois.

2 weeks on 50$?

I'm impressed, my bill is almost always 40-70 a week. I do eat like salmon, nuts, cheese and fresh veg so it's a little expensive but I wonder what do you buy to make that work???

I shop at the shartmart and am often too lazy to bother with cooking meat. That's pretty much it, I could easily spend >40 too if I were a bit nicer to myself.
Salmon sounds pretty good right now actually

Maybe go to the Whole Foods and waste money on a fancier bit of fish and whatever veg looks good?

4 lbs of freshly ground beef, two loaves of bread, a pack of american cheese, two onions. I spend the rest on beer.

I proceed to live on smash burgers and beer for the next week.

I want a digital cooking thermometer but they're like 12-16+ dollars so I keep procrastinating. I'd get that.
Bottle of booze for The Girl tonight, and probably a beer or two that's fancier than my usual fare. Franziskaner was recommended to me, Reissdorf Kolsch was as well, but no clue where to find it.
So long as I'm still spending your money? Two sixers of Clausthaler. I love the stuff and want to watch my alcohol consumption during the week but it's hard to justify spending real-sixpack-prices on nearbeer.

And a pint of Ben and Jerry's if I have some left over. Strawberry Cheesecake with the grahamcracker-crust swirls is great, I also tried that PunchLine with cherries and almond lately, really dug that.

In that case....

I'd buy some snow crab, few red potatoes, a 20$ bottle of Sav Blanc, and maybe a bar of chocolate or something.

Good fish can be pricy in flyover central. Good thing we have Bob’s Seafood here in St. Louis.
I’d grab my styrofoam cooler and head up and see what looks good.
$50 could probably land me a nice snapper, or mussels and monkfish for paella. If nothing else they almost always have good salmon.
