Just buy a big bag of frozen salmon that’s been cut into individual portions. Thaw a piece and put some salt and pepper on it and cook it in a pan with a little olive oil for like five minutes. Super quick and easy and much tastier than canned.

it's delicious as is but if you weigh after draining you'll find a 15 oz can has something like 450 kcal and 65-70 grams of protein which is such a good ratio that i can't possibly fathom worrying about adding in a few more calories
but furthermore if you really need that protein your body's gonna be able to wolf the whole thing down in a couple minutes without gagging and love it so what's the point of adding or detracting flavors by mixing something with it

never tried it on salmon but best i can offer is the shit i put on everything + the shit i put on canned tuna which is
cayenne pepper
slap ya mama red can cajun seasoning
kingsford cajun seasoning
fiesta brand pinto bean seasoning
celery seed (tuna exclusive)
paprika (tuna exclusive)

Just mess around with various spices (one at a time) until you find something you enjoy, then consider mixing the spices together and see what happens.

The only halfway decent recipes to spice it up are going to double the caloric value, like adding mayonnaise or battering it up and deep frying. Anything else is just going to be “add salt and lemon juice” which you don’t need us telling you to do.

I didn’t say “drown the salmon in mayonnaise”, I was saying that decent recipes will use ingredients that defeat the purpose of the dish in the first place. >pomegranate arils or some other sort of sour fruit pieces
>cheese?
>good olive oil (I think it may have been infused with blood orange)

>Your body absorbs less than 1% of the background aluminum in food or drinking water. Ninety-five percent of this is cleared by the kidneys. Most of the environmental aluminum you are exposed to passes out of your system within 24 hours. The average adult eats roughly 7-9 milligrams of aluminum per day. This amount can vary based on local environmental conditions or diet or cookware. Neither the FDA nor the European Food Safety Authority have found that this exposure is high enough to cause problems in healthy adults. It is true that aluminum exposure has been linked to dementia, impaired neural function and lung irritation, but this is NEVER caused by routine, dietary exposure.

/ck/ continues to be one of the stupidest fucking boards on 4chan. cans aren't coated in plastic because plastic is delicious, it's because aluminum, like basically every metal, is fucking toxic. you'd think food discussion wouldn't inherently draw in retards, but I guess when most chefs are alcoholics and drug addicts you're not exactly dealing with functioning society.
>>15757745
it's not caused by dietary exposure because they do intelligent things like, you know, lining the aluminum cans to retard metal absorption. if the previous retard was actually eating from non-lined cans he absolutely would be suffering from aluminum toxicity issues.

Aluminum (Al3+) exhibits a high affinity to proteins, which it is able to cross-link. In contrast to other ubiquitously occurring metals such as iron, manganese, and zinc, aluminum is not known to perform a physiological function in the human organism (23). Clinically relevant, neurotoxic effects have been described in dialysis patients. Aluminum salts, which were formerly added to the dialysate as a phosphate binder, were identified as the causal agents (15). Patients exhibited elevated aluminum concentrations in plasma and brain tissue (15, 24). Those affected showed disorientation, memory impairments, and, at advanced stages, dementia (15). The cause of these effects lies, firstly, in the slow—compared with other organs—removal of aluminum from the brain (e11) and, secondly, in the multitude of biological processes affected by aluminum in the brain (23).

In addition to inducing oxidative stress and binding to negatively charged membrane structures in neurons, aluminum is able to modify hippocampal calcium signal pathways that are crucial to neuronal plasticity and, hence, to memory (e12). Cholinergic neurons are particularly susceptible to aluminum neurotoxicity, which affect synthesis of the neurotransmitter acetylcholine (e13). Particularly the latter two neurobiological effects are also relevant in the presumed association between aluminum and Alzheimer’s disease (the Alzheimer’s hypothesis) (23). Aluminum-related neurotoxic effects could be partially reversed once aluminum contamination was no longer present in the dialysate (15).

it's called a scientific paper, retard.
https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC5651828/
>The assessment of measured values in terms of their relevance to health is an important task in medicine. The neurotoxicity proven in humans and animals is the critical adverse effect of aluminum. This includes specific encephalopathy with a dementia syndrome, which, however, is not identical to the pathophysiology of Alzheimer-type dementia. A carcinogenic effect of aluminum has not been proven to date. It is possible to assess whether critical internal exposure levels are present from aluminum concentrations in blood and urine. Occupational health investigations are helpful here, since they describe experience gained in highly exposed groups. The available occupational health studies show, as a whole, that adverse neurotoxic changes are unlikely in the case of urinary excretion of <50 µg aluminum/g creatinine, even following long-term exposure.

If you are straight lazy, just add some hot sauce, you'd need about a cup to add that many calories. Slightly more involved is fish cakes. For every 16 oz of drained, shredded fish, add 1 large egg, a coup of quick cooking oats, a bit of onion, shallots, whatever to taste, about 1/10th the total volume, and a bit of salt and pepper. Form them into some 3 inch patties and cook them until browned on both sides. Add cum for extra gainz.
