Well seeing that everytime I passed a 5 guys, it was empty (and my hometown one shut down) they are out. So SS vs INO, INO is great but in california because they use sunflower oil there while it is peanut oil in Texas, which really changes the flavor.

In and out is not only better it's like 50% cheaper, never tried the shake shack.

If you you think Five Guys is even remotely good you were probably dropped on your head as a child.

Five Guys is great, juicy tasty burgers, fantastic cajun fries, all the necessary toppings, peanuts. Very expensive though, a good treat once in a while.

ShakeShack has very high quality ingredients, smash burger is nice and different (though a meme fad now). The sort of burger that high earner lads working in London or NYC offices go for on once a week on a Thursday for a cheeky pint and burger.

In-N-Out is like stepping back in time to the 50's. Fantastic burgers. Super affordable price. Animal Style fries are a meme, soggy but nice.
Where as the other two cannot beat McDonalds/Wendy's/BK due to price, if you have a local In-N-Out you'd be insane to go else where, it'll easily be your go to weekly burger joint. Sadly there is a lack of bacon however.

As a resident commiefornian, this is probably my choice for a burger. It's the cheapest, most easily accessible, and the burgers are consistently good quality and tasty. They aren't the best fucking food on planet earth, but what do you expect. Also, fries are often overcooked to shit and taste like cardboard, make sure to order your fries lite.

In-N-Out is shit and shouldn't even be a contender. The patties are paper thin, as thin as the patties in those frozen white castle microwave burgers, tasteless, and the fries are an absolute joke, the worst fries of any burger chain by a mile.

Shake shack is good, small portion though and pricey, I do like how they get a really good crisp on the outside of the patties though.

Five Guys is my favorite fries are amazing and the burger is juicy, large, and tasty.

I wouldn't be surprised in some of those chains down south are better though, I've just never been to one.

At one point in the 2000s Shake Shack was only in NYC and drew massive lines. Easily could wait in line 30 minutes or more. I remember waiting in line and remember thinking it was totally worth it.

Man I haven't eaten at Tommy's in years. Back in college three of my friends and I went to every Tommy's in SoCal in a 24 hour period. The bet was we had to eat chili at each one.
