Weller Antique 107: $35
Stagg Jr: $50
Blanton's: $45
Mckenna BiB 10yr: $20

Sad thing is, it's aged longer and tastes better than Blanton's. The fact it was owned by Heaven Hill meant it was a sleeper, since nobody really holds their products in high regard.

Even thought now I feel fine, my thinking still feels kinda fuzzy or foggy, plus it's harder to focus than usual. Also it's like most of the RAM has been cleared: I was full of ideas and projects before the night out, now they feel a bit distant and hard to get to. I buy everything online now because the liquor store clerks were getting a little too chummy with me going in 3 or 4 times a week. It takes usually about 2 days to get here, and its usually about 20% than the local liquor stores even with shipping.
I'm going off the meme chart, I hvave tried reveything on the right hand side except Longrow peated

have you had the age statement label(9 or 12 i think) I've not had any Knob's yet and need a new bottle of bourbon and have had all the bargain bottles already.

It's different than smoking cigarettes. You don't inhale cigar/pipe smoke into your lungs, only into your mouth.

>>15757885
I wouldn't say its not dangerous. Instead of mainly lung cancer with cigarettes, you take the chance of getting mouth/throat cancer.

I've been following the same chart, basically. But I only got from the start (Glenmorangie 10) to Glenlivet 12 and then Dalmore 12. Along the way I've also been trying some bourbons (I'm from New Orleans), and for the most part most bourbons all tasted the same to me too. Because of that I assumed I was just a tastelet, and my tastebuds just weren't good enough. Then I tried a bottle of Ardbeg Wee Beastie, mainly because it was only $40USD at my local grocery store and every other scotch is way more expensive, and I realize now that my tastebuds are perfectly fine and the other scotches I've tried previously are probably not very strong. You'll realize that too, if you ever try Wee Beastie. It's a very strong smoky/peaty scotch.

I only drink about one shotglass of liquor when I drink, approximately 3 or 4 times a week, so I have enough liquor to last me a while. The next scotch on my list is the Aberlour A'bunadh, mainly because I've read some reviews that call it a "punch in the face". It's also supposed to be a "sherry monster" scotch, and I haven't tried any strong sherry-based scotches yet.

Power's gold label or the stout caskmates version of Jameson.

Do you guys get stuff from local distilleries with pretty narrow distribution, or do you stick to the big established names? What about the stuff they only put out a few bottles of that you can only get on-site?

I have tried the Ardbeg 10, quite different to glenmorangie 10 which was my first "real" whisky too (interestingly this was recommended to me by the guy in the liquor store but also happens to be the starting bottle on this chart) and by real I mean, Not Jack Daniels, Jameson or Jim Beam.
I am an ex smoker and ardbeg really reminds me of one of my old favourite pastimes, I am even thinking of getting the same again because I liked it so much and finished the bottle over a week or so. It'd be nice to always have some of it lying around but its expensive as shit where I am, as are pretty much all of these.

>> No.15763844

Bigger distilleries have more experience behind them...newer ones, no matter how snazzy the marketing might not know wtf they're doing so I'm not stressed about trying their stuff.

For some reason it looks like Powers isnt sold up here. The Jamo caskmates is compelling at $38 Canadian a bottle but a friend of mine (despite being a bit of a tastelet) once pointed out a soy sauce esque flavour to stout and I can't not notice it anymore. Might still give it a go come next paycheque

Ah bummer. Powers Gold is a good modestly priced whiskey. Powers John's Lane is even better. I think Jamo caskmates is similar to Redbreast insofar as it's somewhat creamy. All of the whiskeys I've mentioned are distilled at Midleton like Redbreast, as you may know. Enjoy whatever you try.
