Maybe in this case, but I get lots of orders from restaurants that are sealed to be tamper proof and have a mix of hot and cold items. McDonald’s does this a lot, especially if it’s a single meal, drink and sandwich and fries in one bag.

I separate if I can and put them both in warmer bags so the hot stays hot and the cool stays cool, but I cannot speak for other drivers.

One time, something wierd happened to me though.

I ordered a pizza, and while waiting for it to come I set myself up and my switch next to my open window (I live in an apartment building). And so, I usually looked up so I could see the driver pull up or whatever, I live in a 7th floor, so having some heads up before the driver calls me , makes them have to wait less time for me.

Anyway, I see a car pull up, park in front , and something tells me is the delivery driver, though the car had no markings but I could see a delivery tray on the front seat. I then proceed to watch the guy inside be on the phone for 30 minutes, just bawling and cryin; hang up, then get out, and to my (non) surprise, take the tray out, head over, and , take out his phone again, at which point mine rings.

Anyway, I head over ,guy has red eyes and everything and just goes:

"H-h-h here's your order... t-thank you"

I was a bit nosy and just asked "what happened, are you ok?" to which he replied. "F-familly stuff"

I work for an app called Favor that isn't computer based at the restaurant. So I literally have to order for the customer, and the customer often leaves out details like how they wanted their steak cooked, or if they wanted steamed or fried rice.

A lot of times when I'm calling the restaurant, they'll ask me some shit I wasn't prepared for like which style of chicken does the customer want. i work in food delivery, i'm not a driver but i do drive sometimes if i have to. literally all of my orders have been contactless lately. "leave at door," but all of these people lock their screen doors. who fucking does that? i'm just trying my best not to leave it on the dirty porch. putting bags on the ground is just the weirdest shit to me. one of them said leave in garage on chair, but when i get there the garage is closed. i do realize that delivery notes in our ordering system are stored, so they must have had that idea before but completely forgot to open their garage door the next time they ordered. i'm not allowed to enter your home as a business policy, and will not even enter if asked to, so i'm usually sliding bags into properties by any means i can, and if i can't, i drop it on the porch and fuck off. i only call the customer to come get their food if it's a business open to public foot traffic and there's a risk someone else might take it.

I ordered maybe a hundred times and only had trouble once or twice.

In USA I had drivers not knowing english at all, not reading notes, going off directions etc on a constant basis, one out of three deliveries were problematic.

I think its worse for 1st world because there is no one monopoly where every restaurant has to kneel. Competition can be bad for customers sometimes. We don't have delivery fee here (in direct taxing with price hikes, smaller food is another thing) tipping is truly optional and if they mess your order the monopoly delivery business comes down on restaurants very hard.
