Since i got the Covid, o feel like my sense of smell and taste has come back completely altered. I have had a new appreciation for dry red wines such as bordeaux, cabernet, pinot noir, etc.
Please recommend me some good yet budget everyday reds

Try a Blaufränkisch from Austria, Wachter-Wiesler makes nice ones that are easily affordable.

Portuguese blends with touriga nacional are some of the best bang for your buck wines out there.

Yeah man wine appreciation is a weird one. I drink a lot of italian wine because for me it is reasonably priced and matches my palette. French wine is good too, but it has to be aged bordeaux because the every day stuff is too sweet and made to be crowd pleasing for my palette. Portuguese wine is very good value, but are often very jammy and sweet too and I like dry and tannic reds. Australian, chilean, argentinian have the same issues for me.

These wines and regions are not bad. They just tend to do similar things are the price points I buy at. I'm not saying you can't get a good wine from these regions, but italian wines work for me. I find spanish wine acceptable, but not as good so I don't drink a lot of spanish wine.

If you want cheap reds Bordeaux is a good bet, but it depends on how cheap. Quality single varietal Cabernet Sauvignon and Pinot Noir are hard to find cheaply. Montepulciano d'Abruzzo, Primitivo, Nero d'Avola and Rioja are good bets as well that can be found cheaply and would suit your taste.
