Frankly be honest with them and shoot them down. Being a slob reheating precooked canned goods and being impressed enough with the results that you boast about it to others needs a reality check. and unless you are made of money, is expensive as shit to make. You can make your own orange juice yourself, but it's still cheaper to just buy a gallon jug of local brand(less trash/cleanup/composting/etc) You can make your own tomato sauce/barbeque/etc yourself, but the tomatoes/peppers/onions/etc to make said sauce, while less expensive to make yourself, is only cheaper to make in absurdly LARGE BATCHES, that will go bad even when canned properly.
