I feel like whenever I go into a supermarket without a shopping list I am way more impulsive with my decisions. That's why I always like to make a list before heading out to buy something. I always love looking at the shelf of exotic and curious British foods.

If any native Bonginese could suggest any “must-try” items in this, I’d much appreciate it.
Unless you’re from Leeds.
I used to have a British coworker who said several times “Fuck anything said by anyone from Leeds”.
No idea why. I can only assume Leeds is a cursed place inhabited by lost souls.

I remember my first job was at a grocery store. They taught you how to bag (it was common sense but a lot of teenagers can be dumb as shit), and they made cashiers memorize the codes for the most common produce and you had to take a test. Now the cashiers have these little rolling things in front with all the codes, so it slows them down and the stores won't hire baggers that don't wander off, or enough cashiers, so it slows shit down.

15682687

>>15682629
The codebooks are just there for newer cashiers and for referencing in case they forget. Even if you're as dumb as a brick, you eventually learn the most common ones (4011, 4225, 4693, 4608, 4131, 4022,4023, etc) just through repetition.
Also people can't bag their own groceries for shit. Worked in a grocery store a while and helped out bagging a bunch and had to stop so many shoppers from putting eggs or soft produce on the bottom.

Source: ran the front end at a grocery store at one point. Never again.

McVities HobNobs are really good as are the Jammie dodgers. I'd have them either with a glass of milk or the Typhoo. Branston pickle is with having with cheese sandwiches. Or try the baked beans on cheese and toast. Grab the HP sauce as an alternative to ketchup. It goes great with bacon and is different to the A1 sauce sold in the states. English HP sauce is not a BBQ marinade the way A1 sauce is.
Ribeba is a nice cordial which the states didn't really seem to have and Irn Bru is a good coke/Gatorade alternative.
