This, and they're so much better when they're made like pic related. Sear a top round heavily on all sides in cast iron, then add to a crock pot with a chopped onion, a few whole cloves of garlic, and a can of beef consomme. Add water if needed to get about halfway up the meat and then cook, turning occasionally, until fall apart tender. Pull it, shred it, and pile it high on a crusty roll with a cup of the jus.

French dips are already good, but this blows sliced roast beef with packet jus mix out of the water.
