I own one of these. It's easier to slice quicker, you can adjust the thickness of the slice, and you can very easily use it to slice just about anything else you want to a uniform thickness. Do Europeans always buy singular purpose tools? I thought they were famous for the Swiss Army knife?!?

I own a Danish style slicer similar to this type that you see at hotel breakfast buffets. It's

you can just use the other thinner side and/or angle the string in relation to the bar... it's really not rocket science. You actually have control over the thickness as opposed to the OP ghetto shitter.

Lmao band slicers are gimmicky as fuck. From an engineering perspective, they are way less robust, have way more parts making production and construction unnecessarily complicated, and generally don't work as good. The band snaps from time to time as well. It's an object of engineered obsolescence.

The Ostehøvel works forever, consist of only one to two parts. Literally never breaks, the slices are better and it's easier to use and clean. The Ostehøvel is eternal.

slav here, this board redbulled me on these things and i made sure to buy a decent one as soon as i could. works great for getting uniform slices of cheese for sandwiches or cheese platters. no, i couldn't have made slices that good and uniform with my knife, sue me and suck my dick.

They are literally the only thing you can cut semi soft cheeses like Raclette, Havarti, Danbo, Esrom, Limburger etc with. Way to out yourself as a complete cheeselet.

People who say this have obviously never cut cheese with a knife. What? you are going to cut consistent 4mm thick slices of cheese from a block on a sandwich?
OH WAIT NO YOU'RE NOT
YOU WANNA KNOW WHY?
IT'S BECAUSE AMERICANS EXCLUSELIVELY USE PRE-SLICED CHEESE
YES THAT'S RIGHT, BUYING A BLOCK OF CHEESE IS A FORGEIN CONSEPT TO THEM UNLESS THEY WANT TO PLAY EUROPEANS BY HAVING A CHEESE PLATTER OR SOME SHIT
