My Depression Era parents only drank instant coffee because it was “high tech!” stuff but when I moved out, I got me a MrCoffee coffee maker and use either MaxWell House or Folgers, whichever is on sale.

Get a mr coffee, filters, and a shitty grinder, then buy some decent beans and grind them yourself before you brew. This should cost you a total of about 70 dollars total but will be much better than what you have been drinking and the hardware will last you for years. Don't bother with /ctg/ advice they are hobbyists not real people

If you want to skip the grind your own beans step you can buy pic related and skip the grinder and the cost will go down to like 40 dollars but eventually you'll get grind-curious and that's a good thing. It's ok if you're not into the grinder lifestyle but don't listen to any of those grindphobes out there, there's nothing wrong with grinding your own beans
