I really don't seem the problem with drinking water made from shit as long as it's clean. If all the bad things are removed, then yeah, it's just water. And I'm sure in some sense animal feces is mixed into water that is then purified for us to drink. And as skeptical as I am of the mega rich the rest of your your post is not food or cooking related.

Honestly I kind of wonder how the math works out, like if you could figure out the average amount of shit that living organisms have produced over the last several billion years and determine if the entire ocean's volume of water has actually been shit at one point.

Firstly, how much does that shit-to-water machine cost?

Secondly, how difficult is it to move it around the world?

Thirdly, where do you get the electricity supply to make it work, when you're in a remote place with no water supply?

Fourthly, and most importantly, surely the amount of water you get out of shit will always be very small? And every time the water goes through your body, you're going to get less and less water out of the shit. Especially since most fluid is expelled as urine. In fact wouldn't it be much better to make a machine that turns urine into drinkable water? But even then it's just not a sustainable water source because you're always going to get less and less water out, every time it goes through your body and then through the machine.

What a stupid idea overall.

Yeah but let the kind that screws onto your tap or goes under the sink. I have one and it's great. My mom has one of those filter pitchers and in contrast it sucks ass. Your water hangs out in cheap plastic all day and adopts the taste and smell of plastic. Going stale and absorbing the odors of the fridge. And also stagnating inside the filter part and probably getting some smells from there. My dad and I did a blind taste test and found that the filter pitcher water tasted worse than the shit that came out of the sink.

they can remove trace minerals and some impurities but only to a certain size, things like iron/lead for old pipes, but idk if it can do stuff like fluoride or chlorine. Fluoride only seems to improve dental health for children developing, and doesn't actually do much for adults. If you want actual clean water you have to do reverse osmosis which is kind of expensive.
