there was a bakery my family used to buy birthday cakes from. They would layer on at least an entire inch of frosting, and the frosting was 90% sugar. Completely flavorless. Not creamy, not vanilla-y, not buttery, so sweet you could practically feel the sugar granules crunching against your teeth as you chewed.

I love sweet stuff. You should see how much chocolate syrup I put into my milkshakes. But those cakes were nearly inedible they were so sweet.
