Servers and kitchen staff run it as a scam. They keep note of the items missing and then later use them to complete orders for others. They run them through the till then void them after purchase.
As there is no stock missing nobody gives a shit n the staff all get 10 20 bucks extra a shift.

your order was too complex, ordering anything besides a standard meal like "#3 pls with coke" will confuse fast food workers. just check it before you drive off and have them fix it, it's just one of those things

sticking with something simple like a burger is your best bet. they're kept perpetually warmed in a tray from what i've seen. they either don't run their fryer all night or only run it for short batches every few hours, even if you did get them they'd be cold.

only had to order fried food during late night fast food runs twice before i realized it wasn't the time for it. you want to get that stuff during the day when it rotates quick.

It's not a case of places choosing to hire shit ppl for night shifts, it's more of a case that the only people who apply for night shift work are usually half-crazy to begin with.

I work in a fancy hotel and every single night/graveyard shift person we've hired has either been drunk on the job, high on the job, an hour late every day, plays vidya on the job or spends their shift sleeping.

We'd love to fire them when they fuck up but the real issue is if we fire a graveyard shift shithead for turning up late it'd take us literally 6 months to replace him, and we'd only be replacing him with someone worse.

tl;dr only crazies and lazies apply for night work.

I live in a mostly white neighborhood and work in a mostly black neighborhood. I work over nights and stop at the 24 hr mcds in the black neighborhood for lunch. Countless times I've pulled up and theyve turned off the light. Knowing it's a 24hr I'll wait and some black person turns on the speaker and yells "nigga we closed" or if you order something they'll just say "we ain't got none"
