Has anyone tried keto or low carb diets?Any recipes or go to snacks, meals?

Any side effects? Ive been doing it for about two weeks now and have been taking fish oil pills. My dreams at night have been INSANE and highly vivid. I find myself getting hunger pains earlier on in the day.

i do low carb because it's easier when you're fasting, you can get back to ketosis quicker. you spike your blood sugar and you get an equal swing back down and it doesn't feel great. you have to break a fast with a pizza and experience the mistake for yourself before you will understand.

other than that i don't give a shit. i am not insulin resistant.

When i was on keto I liked canned seafood, low carb burgers, and avocados with salt for my quick meals and snacks. My brother and mom are on keto and they have this little waffle pan they make pizza in. they make a cheese crust in it, and put pepperoni and some low carb tomato sauce on it. never tried it but they live by those things

Some recipes I enjoyed.
>3 meat omelet w/ small amount of onions, green peppers, and cheese
>Fisherman's eggs
>Stuffed cheesy mushrooms
>Coconut flour cheesy sausage brekky bites
>Lettuce wraps with deli meats, cheese
>Bacon cheeseburger w/ pickles and a little onion wrapped in lettuce
>Chicken breast flayed open w/ a brushing of pasta sauce, and some mozz cheese/cheese blend, bacon bits optional (real bacon..)
>Chicken caesar salad
>Tuna salad w/ celery, small amount of relish, black pepper
>Deez nuts

I'm sure there are more, but those were my relatively easy go to's that didn't totally suck. Be prepared to pee a lot more. Drink water, but make sure to get electrolytes. Think propel, and other "sports" style water. Be wary of sugar content in jerky. Opt for bacon jerky, it typically has zero sugar. Also be wary of sugars in "water" as well. Understand even just a little sugar can make your efforts in vain. You will lose mostly water weight, and will be most of the difference you see in the first 3-4 weeks. Afterwards let the hunger suppression of keto help you eat at a big deficit each day so you're losing fat from being in ketosis, as well as calorie deficiency under your daily maintenance. Vivid food dreams are normal. Food is an addiction, that is a type of withdrawal. Your sense of smell will improve drastically. You'll smell a pie on a window sill a mile away. Just remember, nothing tastes as good as being healthy feels. Be vigilant in your sugar intake, stay hydrated, and don't do it longer for 2-3 months at a time.

Furthermore, keto "flu" is normal. At first you will feel like shit. Since OP you're 2 weeks in those effects should be gone. In the future to avoid that shit feeling take ibuprofen, and stay caffeinated. Some good ways to get caffeine with no sugar of course being.

>Black coffee
>Zero cal/sugar energy drinks (be wary of kidney stones if drinking frequently)
>Caffeine pills (think migraine medicine, but make sure it has no acetaminophen or other kidney destroying anti-inflammatory ingredients. Since you may be taking a few daily. Trucker pills or "performance pills" not dealing with you schlong fall into that category)

Yeah lost 70lbs quick n dirty. Just stop eating breads/pastas/carbs period and basically eat whatever I always had eggs and bacon in the morning and some sort of meat and veg for dinner. Veg I always cooked with bacon and cheese. Horrible for cholesterol I'm sure but I didn't give a fuck and I wasn't going to measure shit.

if you want to lose weight properly then stick to 1600 calories a day, eat no-skin chicken baked or air fryered for lunch & dinner and eat them with boiled eggs and low carb vegetables (onion, capsicum, spinach, lettuce). Just have coffee with light/skim milk for breakfast. Go for a 30 minute walk every day, then after a month or two you can start going to a gym and doing machine weights. Get the myfitnesspal app to track everything.
