I ate some probiotic yoghurt that was 47 days past its expiration date and had been in room temperature for ~3 hours, and now my stomach is acting strange, hurts a little and won't let me sleep. I ate it ~12 hours ago. How bad can this get?

Was it opened? If the foil was still on and didn't smell when you ate it, you will most likely live. If it was opened and smelled... then have a bit of baking soda in water (don't overdo) and keep up the fluids.

It will feel a lot better once you've begun to doze off a bit, then shit your bed due to gas pressure buildup and your body's desire to rid itself of the foul garbage you've ingested.

Not bad. Yeah it sucks, but if it were really bad, you’d have been puking hours ago. I recommend a bit of pepto bismol if you have it, and if you don’t have it get some, tablets preferably. Nobody really knows how it works, but it seems to bind to common food-based toxins and make them inert enough to pass through your system with minimal harm. A tablet at the initial “uh oh” is a game changer. Best of luck anon.

From yogurt theres not going to be anything that makes you e.coli or samonella sick. You are, however, going to have the worst shits in 12 hours.

I regularly eat yogurt months after expiration, if it's well sealed it will be in perfect condition. If it passed the smell and taste tests you're ok, stop being neurotic.

not how it works, the bad bacteria in the container is only kept at bay by temperature and time the good bacteria is alive. Of course bad bacteria thrives in room temp conditions and the good doesn't.

He should be okay if he drinks peppermint tea.

The pain your feeling is your old gut microbes fighting it out with the probiotic supercolony you just dumped inside your digestive tract.
Leaving it out caused the bacteria to multiply and it might be less of an assimilation and more of a hostile takeover

When I made this thread the stomach was so bad that I could not eat without a bodily reaction. Do you guys think I can eat now, ~10 hours later?
>>15538821
Yes, it was opened 2 days before I ate half a liter of it. Sealed and refrigerated though.
>>15538936
It looked, smelled, and tasted fine ^^
>>15539008

You can try, but you might also puke.
My only experience is eating rancid food, where your digest tract goes completely haywire and you puke and shit until its completely empthy, and then don't stomach food for the next few days.

Prepare you anus for some fiery poops with a handful of painful stomach cramps. It is going to suck. Drink some strong black coffee before you leave the house so that you don't have an accident at work. Trust no farts,
