What's this cut called in English and is it any good? In my native it's called "rozbratna" and all the description say is that it comes from the "middle back" part of the cow.

There's no culture of eating steak here so it's impossible to get anything that's marbled. this ribeye is the best I could get. It was decently tender.

>is it any good?
it depends on how you cook it.

So it's a top loin I guess? I'd just reverse sear it

Are you Indian or something?

No, I'm from Serbia. People eat beef here, albeit less than pork, but not in the form of steak usually.

Looks like what we would call a sirloin in the US. Sear it off in a pan, and serve it rare or medium rare, it will be pretty tender.

What does a Serb serve with steak?

Sour cream and potatoes

Sounds delicious, and very Slavic.

So if a guy was going to try making a Serbian recipe, what would you recommend? You got a national dish?

OP here, never heard of what that other guy said about serving steak with sour cream but I've never ordered steak here in a restaurant since it's not part of our national cuisine at all. Usually with grilled meats and shit you just get served a diced yellow onion and you can ask for ketchup and other condiments if you want.

As far as Serbian recipes, I don't really know. Maybe Sarma though that's Turkish and a lot of Slav countries have some variant of it.
