It's not. There was a huge uproar about beef Tallow causing heart attacks, and they had to change it. Revisionist history podcast has an episode about it. There's actually no evidence it causes heart attacks, but the 90's were the worst decade for nutrition science

Things changed with time, even in the early 2000's Buger King had totally different items, whether it was the chicken nuggets being odd oval shapes, or the fries being a mimicry of McDonald's.

Yes, McDonald's fries were actually crispy and good back then because they were cooked in beef tallow and they added a little bit of sugar as well (my parents had a diabetic friend who couldn't eat McDonald's fries because of the added sugar). Complaints from diabetics got them to remove the sugar, complaints from health nuts got them to switch to vegetable oil. They've been complete sloppy shit ever since.

No, carbs get broken down into glucose. Sugar is sucrose which is 50% fructose. This disingenuous labeling of all substances ending with -ose as "sugar" is frustrating when you fucking KNOW people are referring to white table sugar when they say sugar is an addictive substance.

It genuinely did. My older sister worked at McDonald's in the 90s and I remember the food being different. But everyone has changed except for KFC. The rise in the Black Population working in the Fast Food industry has lead to a decline in not only standards but also quality.

There's a stark difference in quality when you get a burger wrapped by an overworked poor 27-year-old Black single mother in the inner-city versus an 18-year-old looking to pay down the last $2k on his car in a smaller town or city.
Not even a competition.
