1 1/2c flour
3/8c white sugar
3/8c brown sugar
1/2tsp baking soda
1/4tsp table salt
1/2 egg
1/2c salted butter (1 stick)
2oz mini M&Ms
5oz semi-sweet chocolate chips
-
Preheat oven to 325°F
Melt butter in a large mixing bowl.
Add sugars and mix until creamed.
Mix in egg, salt, and baking soda.
Add flour slowly until dough is formed (if you dump it all at once it will be a pain in the ass to mix in).
Fold in chocolate chips and M&Ms.
Butter your cast iron then evenly spread dough.
Scrape the top of the dough with a fork for some texture.
Bake 15-20 minutes.*
Finish with a sprinkle with sea salt.

*I never made this before, so I toothpick checked it at 15 minutes when the top looked about done, but it was raw. It went back in for 4 minutes at 275°F to cook through. You'll be ok if you just check it and don't let the top burn.

Guys please help PLEASE HELP

I bought a cast iron a while ago and seasoned it according to the instruction guide. After barely using it for a month or two I brought it out again and found that the surface was really sticky and slimy. There was also some dust on the surface. I thought this was a problem so I ran it under soap and water and found that no matter what it wouldn’t become un-sticky. Then I tried wiping the surface with a paper towel and found that little pieces of the paper towel were sticking to the surface now.
So it’s completely ruined, there’s fucking soap and towel pieces and it’s collecting dust in my cabinet. Idk what to do

strip the seasoning completely with oven cleaner or something equally strong and caustic and start over
you probably didn't wipe enough oil out when you seasoned it the first time
you want the thinnest layer possible, like it's just damp with oil as if you tried to clean it out with a paper towel
