If grilled properly it makes for an excellent starter. Plebs.

I think everyone knows by now that thighs are best cut of chicken for every application. Fatty dark meat that tastes best and has best texture.
Breast is nice if its cooked well and its lean but its easy to overcook to be dry garbage.
Drumsticks are a necessary evil, they're alright.
Wings go straight into making stock, fuck those.

At least they’re dark meat. Plus I like the extra skin and cartilage they’re good for gnawing on.

Breast is for making things like curry, where you drown the meat in so much liquid and spice that the identity of the meat is almost irrelevant, and you just want to get some extra protein into the dish.
Wings have a very high skin to meat ratio, which makes them good for frying and saucing

This means you get your fat and collagen from other sources, processed and trans-saturated I'm guessing. If you ate a healthy diet, the fat/skin, and gristle wouldn't disgust you.

The fat and skin is all good. I love that, but the drumsticks have nasty bits.

chicken wings have 2 components - flats AND drumsticks. I prefer the flats.

I prefer the thighs, but good lord anon, how badly are you overcooking these?

I like em cuz they’re like meat lollipops, it comes with its own handle. A thigh is objectively harder to bite into

Drumsticks are great, there's are all that cooked on flavor at the ends of the bone you get to gnaw at and the crunchy cartilage. And yeah the meat is a bit firmer but there's enough fat that it isn't like overcooked breast, it isn't dry. Not everything needs to be fork tender and juicy as a peach, sometimes it's nice to have some resistance, where you need to bite and tug and gnaw, exert a bit of force. And maybe you have to wash your face a little when you're done. It's fun.

I can't eat chicken thighs without tasting that same shit, it's always this same gross taste in them. Don't get it with restaurant chicken thighs at all, just whatever I buy from the store. Washing the chicken doesn't help either.

the chickens actually fine, you're suffering from psychosomatic reaction where you associate home chicken thighs with a particular smell
if you ask someone else how they taste they'll say its fine

this been going on a good year or two pre-covid. Other people have chalked it up to me not liking a gamey flavor but never noticed it pre-rancid incident and other "gamey" meats don't taste like that at all
