Anyone else been cooking for a decade, spent hours in the kitchen cooking classic recipes without any shortcuts, baked their own bread, made their own tortillas, made their own stock etc but ultimately they're just obsessed with eating shitty meals from cans
My favourite are probably smoked sprats, pate's and mussels

I do not eat seafood from cans any longer. "Product of China". is not for me.

What's the point in the effort when no one else is there to appreciate it.

Despite working with food for thirty years and being able to make michelin star worthy duck confit, I will never stop loving hormel corned beef hash. Anyone saying that's wrong is objectively wrong. Ones ability to enjoy a given food is 100% objective and should never be influenced by peer pressure. Always be honest to yourself and enjoy what you enjoy. I can't even count how many friends and family members I now know that went from liking a medium well/well steak to now ordering medium rare because the internet told them to. Never lie to yourself.

>Spend hours on a meal for yourself
The feeling of accomplishment almost eclipses the loneliness... almost.
