Why is every recipe for mincemeat in mince pies so different?
Can some one just tell me which fruit to use to make them like store-bought ones?
I don't care about getting fancy, just have to make these god damn pies somewhat decent.

Currently I'm thinking

>sultanas
>currants
>1x cooking apple
>orange zest + juice
>lemon juice
>crystallised ginger
>candied peel (if I can find it)
>brandy

If you want them like store-bought ones you use a jar of store-bought mincemeat.

probably like ground chuck, salt, black pepper should be fine

Buy store-bought, add orange zest and brandy to improve it.

Adding a finely chopped apple also makes it more palatable to people who don't normally like mince pies.

Fuck off, if you like store bough mince pies/mincemeat there is no helping your retard palate and you shouldn't waste the effort making your own.

literally just buy the jars of the fruit mince filling and use that.
slap it in some pie crusts in a muffin tray.
badda-bing badda boom, ashes.
it's the easiest and laziest dessert to make.
