I don’t remember the exact year, 2014-2016 or so, but McD’s introduced an all day breakfast menu. They bought 1/3 of the world supply of commodity pork belly. Wholesale bacon went up 50%. It was actually cheaper to buy boar bacon for about 3 months. The price stabilized after 6 months but it’s never returned to it’s original cost, even accounting for inflation.
