OP here. Just had it on some toasted rye and also on some crackers. Very surprised at how good it is! I was expecting a very different flavor as I've had liver and onions before and didn't like it. This was REALLY good! It was just a snack before dinner, I'll definitely have some more tomorrow. To any other ck bros out there who've never tried it, give it a shot.

Fat is a taste intensifier and prevents the liverwurst from lying naked on the bread. No need to make it finger thick. Pickles on the other hand give the uniform texture some nice sour and crispy taste without overpowering the Leberwurst. It's like with Mett, Onions and butter.

What I like to do is get a good rye bread.

Make a sandwhich with butter(not mayo) mustard slivered red onion slices & SWISS CHEESE.

I like to pair mine with a nice hefeweizen.

My grand father used to make a liverwurst sandwhich from two slices of wonder bread, a one inch thick piece of red onion and a one inch piece of liverwurst with mayo mustard. He like butter milk to go with it.
