Hey, I'm the Swede that doesn't like this but I absolutely encourage anyone to try this. It's not at all a disgusting dish, i just don't like it. But you can have it with seafood as shown in OPs pic or with meats like hams and paté, sometimes salami. It really varies. You'll find the seafood ones with shrimp and gravlax. Dill is also important.

Btw, when all americans debate which mayo is king, hellman or whatever. The standard Swedish mayo is a better quality than the US stuff. So it's not all gross and weird that we use mayo that way.
