Chả rươi. Vietgook worm omelet. 2013 at Phuc Xuan just outside of Thai Nguyen. It was tasty but a bit runny. Tasted like quiche but earthy. Worms really didnt affect texture

I´ve made a pheasant stuffed with filled quails many years ago.
It was amazing, but my ex-fiance and i thought that was way to much on the dark side.
Served with a redwine/orangegravy, german dumplings and red cabbage.
Shit was tasty as fuck.

But redwine and orangejuice are getting sweet if you reduce them.

strawberry and balsamic bruschetta

i'm not one to shy away from gastronomics and it was really fucking delicious, but it was definitely one of the weirder things i've ever tried despite its simplicity
it really looks like some regular nice bruschetta when you eat it - you have to look closely to notice it's strawberry rather than tomato. then take some ~9-to-18+ year cask aged balsamic or reduce your own to a sweet syrup and it's fucking incredible, a regular dish of mine now

I did this on a date once, I took a first date to a restaurant that was famous for burgers where the buns were donuts. I got too drunk because of nerves and ended up eating 3 of them and she left to use the bathroom and never came back

Whale soup with lingonberry preserve. The whale meat was 5/10, tasted like tough beef with a mild fishy aftertaste, the soup and preserves were way better, overall wouldn't order again.

Been there. Hope you're alright.
I've cooked raccoon. Not very good, quite greasy and stringy. Flavor is gamey in a bad way.
Weirdest thing I've eaten is probably turkey хoлoдeц made by my current fiancee's grandmother's friend. It was weird and the texture was bizarre. Imagine Bell's Seasoning-flavored jello with chunks of turkey fat and gristle.

I've tried all sorts of things, from fried locusts to pork brains to raccoons. Never had dog or cat, but then again I've never been offered it. I make a point of trying anything at least once.

Weirdest thing, in my perspective, was probably smoked puffin. Definitely tops my list for being one of those birds you'd never really consider eating. Salty, gamy, but overall unique in taste. If you ever find yourself in Reykjavik, 3frakkar does it really well. Their whale steaks are also excellent.
