Pic is moreso a serving style rather than cooking equipment.

For me, the most useless cooking equipment is a flour sifter. Takes longer, and requires more manual labour due to having to repeatedly press the trigger. Just use a normal metal mesh strainer and tap/shake it to let the flour go through.

My mother bought a 10 pound electrical appliance which only peels potatoes and nothing else (one potato at a time).

One of my friends had a juice press kinda like my pic. It was about 3 feet tall and only good for citrus. He only used it 1-2x a year. When he moved into my apartment he tried to put the thing on our kitchen counter but I made him keep it in his closet (I tried to get him to throw it away but he wouldn't).
