I'm debating whether to get Crawfish or not for lunch. I've never had it but, there's a good seafood restaurant down the street I'm going to try today. Will I have to peel them myself? I hate doing that shit, but it seems like most seafood is like that. Maybe I should just get scallops.

Crawfish are delicious, but it's nowhere near their season. You'll start being able to get some in a month or so, but it will be super expensive.

I don't know what's in season in California, but I can tell you that crawfish are not in season in Louisiana.

If you don't like foods that you have to fuss with then they aren't for you.

Personally I enjoy eating foods that take a little "work," things like chicken wings, crawfish, pomegranates, etc. But it sounds like you want ready to eat morsels that you can place right in your mouth and eat without thinking about it. So I would think that these might disappoint you.

Also it's important to suck the head.

Theyre really good. I had them when I went to Sweden to visit my ex’s family. I always thought of them as redneck food but theyre popular in Scandinavia too or at least Sweden.

Crawfish are an incredibly messy affair. I personally will only eat them with family and friends once a year when we get together around Mother's Day, though we skipped it this year. Good eating, though.

boiled crawfish with corn, potatoes, sausage, ect there is nothing better in this world except maybe throwing some shrimp and crabs in after the crawfish is done.
