What is the absolute worst restaurant/chain to work for? I'd imagine Moe's has to be up there with the way people demand you overfill their monstrous thin tortilla creations.

Any fried chicken joint or fried seafood. That shit gets on your clothes and the smell is there always.

I worked at BWW and would not recommend it. Only fresh things are wings, vegetables, and beef. Everything else is prepackaged frozen shit. Also each sauce has a bucket for tossing. Shit like garlic parm that gets tossed at 10:30am may not be cleaned until 2am.

big and varied menu requiring several utensils in a cluttered but giant and open in front of customers space. fast food speed requirements coupled with full silverware/plates. tons of varied but poorly implemented different drinks: you're dumping out tons of drinks every other minute. huge dining room areas that were carpeted and a bitch to clean. patios. running a panera seems crazy to me. you need an unnecessary amount of staff tripping over each other's shoes. The people you'd think of as the "average person who eats at a panera" were that times ten when it came to the management and higher ups in the company. People constantly pulled aside for a new pointless "policy change training course" or something inane shown on an overly long video or slideshow.

As someone who previously worked at a nearby Starbucks the customers were basically the same people and not even close to the top in issues with working there.

I don't know maybe it doesn't sound bad when listed out but if you've worked at one it seems to be generally acknowledge that it was a terrible place to work at unless you were just the overnight baker or cashier that only had to make smoothies occasionally.

It's not strictly a restaurant but 7-Eleven was my worst food-service job by far. Imagine making everything for the lunch rush by yourself, while also running the register and shopping online orders from the store. While there's a line around the corner and some crackhead is hassling you because they didn't get the 20 cents off their free foodstamps slurpee with two packs of cigs and a load of beer and the timer is going off, shit's burning, and they're speaking plague straight into your face the second you come around the counter to double-check the fine print on an outdated promo from three months ago.

Then I got sick and had to go home because I was spending more time vomiting than working and they fired me because the store had to close for 2 hours because there are literally only 3 people working there including management so it's never ever ever more than one person in house at a time and somehow that's my fucking fault right?

The overwhelming """"positivity"""" at these corporate jobs is something else. Texas roadhouse is the most visible example. Not only must you do your job, you have to LOVE your job as well. Most places where you have a shit boss who really only gives a shit that you get the job done in exchange for his money are fine, because as long as you do your job there really is no problem with you having a open disdain for your situation. You can hate your job, bitch with your co-workers and whatever. All that matters is that the work is done.
In these massive corporate jobs that doesn't fly, there is no room for cynicism of any form. Every person some sort of supervisor or employee wellness representative who's job it is to fire you if you acknowledge the fact that you do not enjoy your shit tier minimum wage job or that you are only there because they are paying you.
They're quite literally stripping you of your basic human right to not enjoy yourself. Sure you can just leave, but if you're working at a place like this you probably don't have many options. It's probably the most brutal form of authoritarianism that most first worlders will ever see.
Honk honk.

I'm sure a lot of what I said is location dependent and based on whether or not whoever the manager is has a rod up his ass.
When I was in high school I did an interview at chipotle. The motherfucker asked me no questions about my actual work history, ethic or whatever. He's starts rattling off questions about the history of the company and it's missions and all this other bullshit I know his district manager forced him to give a fuck about. One of the managers at the JJ's I worked at passed out in the bathroom high on drugs. He didn't get fired for it. Then he did it again a week later. But yeah most of the people there were drug dealers for some reason. I was just an alcoholic at the time but every single coworker of mine offered me drugs at some point. It was honestly not a bad job and the oldest delivery guy would show up with his end of work beer during his last delivery and no one even cared. A few people working the closing shift got fired because they stayed overnight just getting shitfaced and passed out in one of the booths.

... this was always a thing. I had to pull a few district managers into the office on my breaks/end of shifts at Starbucks to explain myself a few times.

I always killed it, regardless of my mood, and the customers like me because I was attentive, and didn't try to shove some fake positivity down their throats. I might not always smile, but I'm usually likeable. On top of that, I trained three managers in things I wasn't supposed to know, and brought enough throughput in the three stores I usually worked to bring them to the top of the district, and the district up to a consistent top three in the region.

Being told I wasn't gung ho enough on their corporate cult to ever manage a store was all the push I needed to go improve my life. It wasn't time completely wasted, but it's three years I'm not getting back.
