Dear fellow white people.

Please stop fetishising Asian cuisine. We're doing damage to the Asian American community and eroding values. It's nice to be invited in to a culture but this is invasive fetishism. It's inherently hostile bordering on racist. I like noodles too, but this is too much.

anybody tried any of the other myriad varieties of this? i think i got the spicy one once and it was definitely spicy but same flavours, could literally just get the original and stir in some sambal (pic related is my all time favourite).

What about the other flavours? Any good? I don't feel like buying 5-packs just to see if I even like it.

Special Chicken, Soto Ayam, and Vegetable are nice light flavours.

Satay is meh but Barbeque Chicken is a nice upgrade from the base model.

In Bali there's a heap more flavours than I can get locally. Stuff like Salted Egg, their collab with Chitato (had crushed chips instead of fried onion), and some flavour that had really wavy ribbon noodles.

Thanks anon I'll keep an eye out. I think I might go to the local Asianmart™ to see if I can find them in individual packets instead of bulk so I can try them. For some reason the vegetable appeals to me, I think that would be a nice change of pace from the overly sweet and umamied flavour of the original

I know you're joking but there was some comedian who had a bit about how eating chow mein once erased 6,000 years of Chinese culture, but there are people who actually believe this shit. One girl on my normiebook went crazy on Halloween because of people dressing their white kids up like Pocahontas and Princess Jasmine.

I buy this shit by the case, because the noodles are OK and are cheaper than buying plain noodles. Mostly I use them for Chinese and Korean dishes, hot pots and the like.
There are better instant noodles for this- but those are specialty foods here and cost 8 times as much.

If you want them Indonesian style you fry some cabbage and garlic in the oil, add water and the seasonings, then add the noodles.
The fried onion is a garnish, don't add it before.
Typically you eat them with sliced cucumber, capsicum and a fried egg.
It's really an instant version of bwang goreng.

My favorite recipe
>fry off some green onions, garlic, ginger, red chilli (optional) and tofu (pressed)
>add korean mala djoubanjiang ( hot and numbing fermented bean paste), gouchijiang (hot pepper paste)
>add sliced dried mushrooms, any processed meat, lotus root (optional)
>finish by adding instant noodles, green vegetables
You want way more liquid than you imagine, because the instant noodles soak up a lot
If you fry off fresh red chilli, use lots of goujiang and add korean pepper powder this can be blisteringly spicy.
