I've eaten Taco Bell for decades, a few weeks ago I went there and bought three tacos because there isn't much else left of their menu. I got the worst food poisoning of my life six hours later. I'm done with Taco Bell. They aren't even open very late anymore. I hope they go out of business.

COVID really killed Taco Bell. I fear they’ll be reduced to taco trucks or some other bastardized form of food service like their Huttese brethren. The menu is missing all but one or two of the best items the franchise has ever had, their locations have closed down, and the quality is through the floor.

How cucked is the US that this relatively mild virus (compared to the one that’s coming) so easily swept all these massive consumer corporations? Americans were living in a third-world country with a shiny façade this whole time. I wonder when the real thing got hollowed out

I really don't get what's going on with them. Have they been hit that badly by the rona? I would have figured the joint that'll give you two meals worth of food for $5 would have done pretty good through a period where tons of people were out of work. Yet they scrapped half their menu, meanwhile the biggest competitor in my area, Del Taco, has expanded their menu, the whole thing, not just the value options, and hasn't given any indication that they'll be dropping any popular options.

Even their $5 boxes aren't as good anymore. The new cheddar chalupa box has just the chalupa, 1 (one) taco, the cinnamon twists, and a drink. When they had the cheddar chalupa before it came with 2 tacos. They don't even have the decency to make it a Doritos Locos taco (on that note I really miss the cool ranch and fiery varieties, the nacho one was always my least favorite of the bunch)
