I stopped peeling potatoes out of sheer laziness and now I much prefer the texture with the skin on. Not to mention the skin contains a lot of nutrients.

It depends on the potato. Some potatoes have skin that's too thick and it's like chewing on paper. Smaller potatoes have thinner skin and are fine to leave on though.

There are no nutrient in potato skin, actually there is only solanin, which is toxin. You only really should eat unpeeled tatoes when they are fresh harvested. The longer tatoes get stored, the higher Solanin levels rise.

False, the inclusion of potato skins benefits differently from different flavors/thickness of skin. Most potato recipes improved by leaving skins are for other cooking methods compared to mashed potatoes.
