I liked taco bell, but they are kind of expensive here in Canada now. I pretty much only eat dollar menu items from fastfood places, but their menu does not have one.

I just don't find much value in paying for regular menu items. If I'm going to spend 10$ plus on a meal, I might as well go to an actual takeout place that specializes in something, not a chain.

That building looks like the old Taco Viva from my hometown. It was just like Taco Bell except instead of sauce packets they had the sauce in big vats and you'd spoon it out. Eventually they went out of business and some guy bought the place and bricked up the windows, and opened up a strip club but due to local ordinances the strippers had to wear pasties on their nipples. Then they transitioned to covering up their nipples with some weird latex stuff. The fight between this business and the city council went on for a few years. I think the place is a computer repair place now.

Taco Bell's identity now centers around gimmicky stuff. Every month you've got some new flashy novelty thing created by stoners to appeal to college kids or whatever the new demographic has shifted to since Millenials and Zoomers have moved on to Chipotle and other green "health conscious"-feeling places. I say FEELING, cause they probably ain't much better. If they went back to being closer to what they were, I think they'd be seen as generic, so they never will. Among taco joints, you've got a lot of the same type of place already, but they're low quality and people on the other side are snobs about authenticity. It puts them in a hard place even if they wanted to go back to being the fast food and drive thru version of Chi-Chis.
