Just wait for them to be on sale. I've seen 1 lb things of blueberries be 2 or 3 for 1. Not a bad deal at all.

Have you never heard of food milage? Don't be surprised shit gets moldy when you're buying days or weeks old out of season artificially ripened trash.

You're getting ripped off. Why on earth would you measure fruit in 'pints'? It's not a liquid. If that is a 'pint' tub then you are literally paying for empty air space as well.

They grow wild in Newfoundland.
I spent a summer with my grandparents when I was 18 and would go out picking blueberries with my grandpa and would come back with a gallon bucket full of them, grandma would make it into pies and shit.

Blackberries produce lots of fruit and are hardy plants. Grow your own and you'll have enough blackberries to get sick of them. If you want to prolong their shelf life, soak them in a lemon juice+water mixture for 30 mins before drying them and putting them in the fridge. You can also make your own jam, which is super easy because blackberries have a lot of natural pectin. Our blackberry shrub got so big we had to chop down sections of it.

I've rinsed berries in plain distilled vinegar, then water. Let them dry and then refrigerated them and they lasted over a week.

Yeah, people forgett that they should never "pick" wild stuff form inner cities or anywhere along roads. Even in germany, where we actually try to reduce pesticides and roa emissions, there was a study done one people having gardens alongside train tracks or streets growing berries, salats and other stuff. They have been controlled for heavy metalls and where around 20times as polluted as the max level allowable to be sold.

A wild harvest should only be done in actual nature or country side. You shouldn't even grow herbs if you're an inner city fag.

Washing is useless. Heavy metall and pesticides don't just sit atop of those fruits, they leech inside, from the soil and from the air. Plus even if they would sit atop, you shouldn't be able to wash them off just by letting them sit in water. You would need a tensi and rubbing with a brush. At that point you wont have anything left from those street fruits.

The same goes for commercial apples. Washing them is useless, the waxing which is applied for longer self live is placed on top of the pesticides and you cant wash it of by pure water and rubbing.

It's only a meme for people to feel better about eating toxic trash.

I'll eat them out on walks, but definitely not a good idea to eat the ones near traffic. Growing your own blackberries is too much work, and painful if you're not careful.
