Not even a fan of Chipotle but how is Moe's the best? I have never had a good burrito experience at Moe's and I have eaten there a lot, just always really flat tasting like a creamy, homogenous, generic mexican flavored paste and their rice is never, ever any good.

Little roadside Mexican-run taco stand experience is the most reliably good and cheapest anyway, like 2 dollars for a taco better than you will get from any chain.

It is now. Used to not be. After the E Coli shit they moved to pre prepped food and it lost all its flavor. Everything aside from chicken is pre cooked. They just sear it and toss it on the line.

Chipotle was at its peak when they had real flame grills (not planchas) and made everything in house.

Chicken and steak were marinated in house.

Caritas came pre seasoned but would be braised in house.

Barbacoa was similar to carnitas.

Guac and chips and crispy shells all made in house along with teas.

Mild salsa and corn were made in house. Used to have to pluck the stems out of the tomatoes before prepping.

Green and red salsa came pre mixed.

Such a cursed take on Mexican food.

Like it's not quite tex mex, but it's definitely inauthentic and simple in its ingredients and flavor. You're so much better off finding a real Mexican restaurant, especially considering it's so overpriced.

I've given it a few tries and, like Five Guys, it seems to be going for a premium price point while having higher quality food that tastes worse than many cheaper options.
