My misses looks typically English and is quite fit. I'm not expecting her to be a super model.

I was literally so steamed about this challenge. The matcha mille crepe cake for the technical was fine, although I was kind of incredulous that several of the people didn't know what a "crescent shape" was - at least two thought it was a semicircle and the jock idiot had no idea and scattered his fruit toppings randomly.

But both the first and showstopper challenges were travesties. The buns were OK but gimmicky, but the showstopper "kawaii cakes" were just full British Pinterest monstrosities. I literally can't find anything about these things other than hideous mommyblog recipes - I don't think "kawaii cake" is literally even at all Japanese, but rather some British bastard wreckage.... And they didn't even use Japanese flavors or recipes except for the young toff who used yuzu, and Lottie''s Japanese sponge cake.

I mean it would be like doing a "French Week" where you just made macarons in kooky flavors, and then like baguette-shaped cakes. Brits are always stunningly provincial regarding everything outside europe, even compared to most americans... case in point the "Katsu Curry" bun filling the idiot jock made that was just Japanese curry with shredded chicken breast. Katsu is the breaded pork cutlet! Curry is the curry! That battle''s lost in the uk though...morons.

This show is at its worst when they're all just making things from british pinterest and this was one of the worst examples, especially when a lot of Japanese baking is interesting & different....even the crepe thing was just crepes but arranged. You can tel it wasn't hard cause they all did very well...well, except for jolly fat woman''s thick sloppy cakes.
