Have you ever taken into account all different variables when it comes to choices?
You're going out with friends, family or signifant other, they're choosing dishes, you might get ideas from their choices, you might hear suggestions from your friends, suggestions from the waitress, there might be some distant memory of a dish you saw elsewhere that might affect your decision, or you just feel like taking the dish that's tried and true.
Nobody's directly forcing anybody to try something new and there's no confirmation bias in genuinely looking for something differing from the norm.
