After reading the label It's not baking cocoa, so I attempted to mix it with milk. It's very hydrophobic. I had a heck of a time getting it to mix in.

It has an unusual flavor. I've never had this brand before so I am not sure what it is supposed to taste like.

I have had Nestle quick, hershey's, and ovaltine.

Nestle has some other spices added to it like cinnamon, nutmeg or clove in very tiny amounts.

This taste like chocolate but has flavor I can't quite place. It could be that it's too old.

I'm going to hold off on trying more of it, I once read an article where someone got really sick or died because they ate hot chocolate mix from the 80's that the milk solids in it had gone off.

This is pretty common for straight cocoa powder. Most homemade recipes call for some type of milk powder to be mixed in.
