When will you people begin to understand that a cheese sandwich CAN be grilled without the cheese becoming a fluid? Some cheese is best when it's warm, but not running all over the place.

If you want melted, then fine. Nobody's stopping you. But it's not the only way to make a nice sandwich.

That's typically how I like mine actually but I don't think his even got to that point where it was warm because of how quickly it burned. It was literally only in the pan for 60 seconds before he took it out and started slicing it up, and it was a pretty thick sandwich. It can be done properly like that but he just messed up and his pan was too hot but didn't feel like doing it again I suppose.

It was funny too because after he took the sandwich out and cut it he was like "it's still so very hot" which felt ironic.

THIS IS A MELT. THIS IS A MELT THREAD.
A grilled cheese consists of only these following items. Cheese. Bread with spread (usually butter). This entire board consist of "melts". Almost every "grilled cheese" sandwich i see on here has other items added to it. Let me start out by saying I have nothing against melts, I just hate their association with sandwiches that are not grilled cheeses. Adding cheese to your tuna sandwich? It's called a Tuna melt. Totally different. Want to add bacon and some pretentious bread crumbs with spinach? I don't know what the hell you'd call that but it's not a grilled cheese. I would be more than willing to wager I've eaten more grilled cheeses in my 41 years than any of you had in your entire lives. I have one almost everyday and sometimes more than just one sandwich. Want to personalize your grilled cheese? Use a mix of different cheeses or use sourdough or french bread. I'm not a religious man nor am I anything close to a culinary expert. But as a bland white mid-western male I am honestly the most passionate person when it comes to grilled cheese and mac & cheese. All of you foodies stay the hell away from our grilled cheeses and stop associating your sandwich melts with them. Yet again, it is utter blasphemy and it rocks me to the core of my pale being. Shit, I stopped lurking after 3 years and made this post for the sole purpose of posting this. I've seen post after post of peoples "grilled cheeses" all over /ck/ and it's been driving me insane. The moment i saw this thread this morning I finally snapped. Hell, I may even start my own thread just because I know this one exists now.

You god damn heretics. Respect the grilled cheese and stop changing it into whatever you like and love it for it what it is. Or make your damn melt sandwich and call it for what it is. A melt.

Gordon is a gay slut, I used to wait tables for him in London back in the 90s. At the end of every service he'd take me to the basement where we kept our produce. He would pull his trousers down and stare me in the eyes. "MY ARSE ISN'T GOING TO FUCK ITSELF IS IT BIG BOY?!?!" I would just always reply with "No Gordon." I would then pull out my courgette and olive oil and begin penetrating his donut hole. After he came he'd scream at me "CLEAN THE FUCKING STATION YOU STUPID IDIOT!" "Yes Gordon" I would say as I cleaned his bum bum. He'd walk out of the restaurant and enter a car driven by Marco Pierre White. One time I heard Marco say to Gordon "I doubt it's as sore as when I used to humiliate you in front of the boys at Harvey's" I saw Gordon cry after he said that.

I've also explained several times already to the cooklets on this board that the cheese in the video IS IN FACT MELTED! It's just that the variety G uses here has a certain kind of cheese skin on the outside, that prevents the inside from flowing out. If you dug your teeth in, it would taste like gooey heaven - believe me. As for the bread... well that's a bit unlucky, but it's not as bad in reality. The camera settings his crew uses are partly to blame.... contrast and saturation are turned up far too high - you can easily prove this to yourself if you compare it with the unnatural color the pan has. All a matter of contrast.
