Guys... I'm almost 30 years old and I JUST discovered Earl Grey tea. And my first thought was
>Where the fuck has this been all my life???

>> No.14903275

I discovered it at 24, immediately regretted it.

I can see that. I like weird earthy/floral drinks though so I took to it pretty well. I was more shocked that it's so popular. Your reaction is what I would assume most people would have. Yet there's an entire country (England) that drowns in it.
It is weird and borderline soapy, but I find it refreshing, especially iced with a twist of lemon.

For me, it's the soap flavor. But other floral teas like chrysanthemum are nice.
>Yet there's an entire country (England) that drowns in it.
Britain is still trying to discover good tea after so many centuries

I like Earl Grey too
Also Oolong, would recommend it. Maybe you will like that too

What's it like?

Oolong is the single most varied tea type. It can taste anywhere from green and flowery to dark roasted and fruity

Tea is unironically extremely based. Try some loose leaf shit out, maybe buy a sample pack or something with a bunch of different types of tea. It's very comfy, especially in the fall/winter late at night.

There are consistently tea generals up here, spend some time poking around them and you'll learn a lot. It's a deep rabbit hole to go down. From February to June I spent about a thousand bucks on tea and teaware. Don't regret it.

As a Britbong I must ask how much sugar and milk you add so I can mock you.

I liked adulterated novelty teas when I was a child too. Eventually you grow up and appreciate finer things, like 岩茶

It's my favorite tea, I enjoy it iced in the summer. Doesn't need sugar. Sometimes I make a concentrate/syrup to drizzle on pastries or for milk tea out of it for special occasions.
>>14905028
yikes. that sounds exhausting.

Search for "tea infuser" if you want convenience.
They typically look like a mesh strainer ball.

Some of your fancier teapots have a coarse strainer at the base of the spout; they sorta work with careful pouring.
Tea leaves as fortune telling started because they don't work quite well enough, so you get some leaves in the bottom sip in the cup, which you can then dump into the saucer and have someone look at them and make up a story for you.
