why are 7 elevens in america so shit? in asia, they have a massive selection of ready to eat meals, cheap quality dim sum in heating trays buffet style, hot drinks, etc. but in america, it's hot dogs and stale old sandwiches.

I've heard it's more common for gas stations in the midwest to sell fresh higher quality food as a way to draw people in. I've also seen some gas stations in my area that basically have a small independent food vendor selling things from scratch. But most people just want to get some junk food at a gas station as a treat, so selling anything else would result in less customers.
