Then I'll be wrong. That's generally the difference between European brewers and those in the US. The Europoors are working off of some recipe that's been around for hundreds of years. It was their local monarch's favorite brew. The European culture still has monarchy and serfdom so embedded in their genes that they can't bear to experiment and make things better. You should double check that your favorite belgian beer isn't actually made by AB InBev. If it is, you should neck yourself, since they do in fact change the recipes. They never change recipes for the better though. They specialize in buying breweries and modifying their recipes to be made with cheaper ingredients, regardless of what it does to the taste.
